This is the biggest question we asked on the podcast. I believe it’s best to not think of a single industry as the solution to your money problems, but rather think of a variety of industries and ask what you’d like as the only possible answers. I think it’s possible to make money in nearly all industries, but it is rare to make money in one industry entirely – if there is such an industry, it’s unlikely you’d have the time to learn it or its many secrets.

Are there resources you’ve found helpful at this stage of your business that really helped?
There are some resources we recommend that helped us get traction in this first chapter. If there is a resource that you’ve found helpful, it would be great to share it below in the comments – it’s important to remember, at the end of the day, that it is the client, not you, who will determine whether or not it works. As we’ve seen over the course of this podcast, you don’t want to have to chase the customer to be successful – it’s far better to find a client who is more interested in your product than to chase your customers.
What are your thoughts on the topic of “getting started in your business” compared to “starting from scratch? If I choose to skip starting from scratch (which is not what most people do with their business!) could we assume that the “getting started” part is more important than the “starting from scratch” part?
The “getting started” part is definitely very important. However, I don’t think you can jump straight to “starting and running your business” from the start – there are a few different stages that you might need to work through to achieve that, but you’ll get a better understanding of what to do through the interview to “get started.”
Are there other things you’ve learned from this podcast which were particularly helpful?
I think there are two main things that we learned – if you follow the business and your customers, you will quickly find out whether or not a great product will solve your problem – and if you do not follow your customers, you will get more negative feedback for every dollar you spend vs. a much better service. You’ll also probably learn something from this podcast, like how quickly some businesses can go from zero to 1000
