Does WAG or rover pay more?

You’re right, that’s right: I’m sure there would be a lot of things that we could do with a vehicle that looks like this,” said Dr. Raul Rodriguez, a Mars scientist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

“We could do some pretty creative things that would really change the exploration paradigm.”

There are some ways the rovers can get a return on their science dollars.

One is by picking up on seasonal cues that indicate more water is available: the way the rover is placed to collect samples in a spring-like environment. The rover will then carry out analyses in a similar season, to gauge whether or not the water is there, Dr. Rodriguez said.

Another way researchers can explore the Martian surface is to sample rocks for signs of past life. NASA’s Curiosity rover has identified that Mars and the Moon are prime candidates for the discovery phase of these missions, but rovers like Spirit and Opportunity are expected to find better results with more data.

Curiosity’s sampling can then be re-used on future Mars exploration missions: in particular, Dr. Rodriguez said, the spacecraft can have a good chance of finding mineral deposits during their long drive after stopping to sample the landscape.

Some researchers are also considering the potential for rovers to bring back a good chunk of the red planet’s atmosphere for analysis or for future study.

“They can help us understand what happens to the atmosphere on Mars as it heats up and changes,” said Prof. R. Scott Hubbard of California Institute of Technology in Pasadena.

“One of the things we know we need is a study atmosphere and not just a thin layer of dust,” he said. “A good way to do that would be if you could get those chemical fingerprints from the atmosphere of Mars and return them to Earth for the study of those chemical fingerprints.”

Mumbai: India’s banking regulator Arundhati Bhattacharya has said the banking sector and consumer finance are not the same.

She spoke in the Lok Sabha to raise questions about the RBI’s role in creating the situation that led to the AYUSH crisis. She said the Reserve Bank of India, along with the Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Authority of India, were charged with protecting consumers, and that they should not
