Selling is at its highest level since June.
We have the highest number of projects sold this week on Etsy’s platform, and the biggest single day-one project sold on both platforms.
Our highest volume, month-to-month, month-to-ever, for a new record. Our highest daily active users.
We sold 4.4 million items on Etsy in the past week, up 3 percent from the same period in 2015 and 2 percent from 2014.
Our overall digital growth is the fastest we’ve ever been since we launched in 2008. We grew the fastest in the U.S., and fastest in Canada.
“The most helpful of the platform’s new features was the search for projects, which has been improved to provide even greater filtering options for finding items that best match your style and budget,” said Matt Mullenweg, general manager of Etsy. “We are now working on implementing a tool that allows customers to select only items that best fit their budgets.”
“Our users have found creative ways to incorporate their items into the larger projects they’re putting together for their families and clients,” added Mullenweg. “The most creative users can filter projects by theme, price, size, and more.”
In fact, Etsy sold the most work-related stuff of any site in September. Etsy currently has 15.2 million unique visitors a month.
The number of unique visitors for each month has been increasing at double the pace of our global average. We see over 1.5 billion page views per month on our site.
Etsy reported 9 percent growth in revenue for the second quarter and a 28 percent revenue increase over the same quarter last year.
The company said it’s hiring 50 percent more full-time developers this year than it did in 2015, and it expects to continue hiring more people to help solve its problems.
In its first quarter 2015, Etsy said it paid out $25 million in compensation to employees.
“Over the past year, we’ve continued to make investments across our team to grow team productivity, speed up the growth of product projects, and improve our customer experience,” said Erik Lomis, co-founder and CEO of Etsy. “Now we’re taking those efforts, and scaling out faster on our platforms and into the real world, with our third major round of funding we announced earlier this morning.”
