What app pays the most?

How much money do customers buy in their mobile apps? We’re here to explain!

With App Annie, we have access to over 30,000 reviews of what people in mobile app business are paying for. The data is broken down by industry:

App developers and publishers spend on average 25 cents per downloads, including all in-app purchases. Developers and publishers pay less than half of that, with the remaining being split between Google and Apple Pay.

In our data, we see that most app developers pay between 9 and 15 cents a download for their app. In the past, most developers paid between 3 and 5 cents. With a bit more data, we may be able to find out which app is the highest paid app.

Our data shows that the majority of developers have paid between 30 and 70 cents a download for games. In some cases, developers are paying more. For example, the “Escape From Tipperary ” game by developer Big Cat Games costs around 5 cents a download.
