This was the biggest question of the night, to the point that it was debated on Twitter and Facebook before anyone from The New York Times had time to write a good answer. The answer they chose: “We think it’s possible, but we’re not there yet.”
The big question was, “How can we make Google pay more?” It appears from the data we saw, that the two biggest factors in making money are the search scale and the advertising scale.
The search scale is the difference between a search being done by someone who is not a company or a search by a company or a combination of both. It’s easy to look at that and see that Google has had success by increasing both the search scale and the revenues of Google.
You can look at a graph of the search scale here and see how that shows the Google ads and services growth with the growth of the search.
The second big factor is Google advertising. The first graph is Google’s advertising revenues from 2007 to 2015, the largest period for ads. It shows the same thing with a more granular view of the different segments.
We look at the time period 2007 to 2015 and in that time period Google has shown a pretty consistent growth of revenues from ads. The growth was also fairly broad based. The number of days of ads on Google was growing by about 25% per year. Advertising revenues for the year ended in 2015 came to $7.2 billion, a 6% increase from 2012.
So while we don’t yet know how much extra money Google is going to get, there is good reason to think it’s going to be a very good amount of money, more than most thought.
How do they pay their employees?
While there is no direct connection between a Google employee and Google stock, you have to appreciate the power of the executive structure that Google has created. That structure makes sure the executives who work for Google have the power because executives of Google make decisions. That’s not a bad result at all.
How much money is left over?
We’ve already shown that it’s possible for Google to maintain most, if not all, of the revenue it makes from ads. We can’t estimate the amount of other revenue Google might be able to generate as a result, but it should be relatively close to the $7.2 billion that we showed previously.
However, we’ll get back to that. First let’s talk about the total Google revenue
