I want to learn how to train a human being like a dog, so I’d prefer to focus on working out your body to make yourself a more strong, fit body. I’ve also learned how to help others too, so I find you’re most likely to benefit if you become a trainer yourself.
Why do you think fitness-based jobs are so hard to get?
The biggest challenge in the fitness industry is the financial aspect. When I started in this business, I was making roughly $2,500 per month. I’m trying to bring down that. But at the same time, I still have to do everything but make rent. I have to live comfortably, even though I don’t have a huge savings account. I’m constantly running out of gas and running out of room when I work out. I want to build healthy habits, but I’m not sure how to do that.
What kind of training do you do?
I usually do HIIT sessions. There’s a program called the Warrior Mindset and I do the Warrior Mindset every morning. Some days I’ll do some calisthenics, but usually it’s just doing squats, presses, presses and dips at least five times a week. I work with a coach, but I also try to get my clients to go as well.
What’s your experience like with clients?
A lot of my clients are athletes. I do a lot of stretching and some Olympic lifting as well. I get a lot of people who are retired or injured so I want to be able to give them the most help and give them things to do. The fitness industry is so expensive, but I get paid about $3,000 a month.
Why do you think you’re making money?
I work a lot with athletes and I’m helping them make a lot of money. I’ve been able to sell a few workout DVDs to athletes, so that’s helped. You can make money from it, but it’s not easy.
Do you have any hobbies?
I get a lot of exercise in my free hours, but I try to make time for the kids when I can. I’m a big dad so I’m constantly trying to help the kids. I’ve got a boy now in his freshman year and I’m also training with a trainer in his first year to get him into shape.
