There’s no such thing as “hard” video editing skills. If you can easily edit videos to a point where they look pretty, that’s great – however, you aren’t making any video better.
Video editing is not about how to create a video or how to edit a video. It’s about the skills you can learn and apply to create better video.
If you can’t do something, that’s a sign that you don’t know how to do the same thing well.
Learn to edit more easily and get better without changing how you work.
3. Stop doing stuff that doesn’t make your video better
If you’re a good filmmaker, you’ve probably done a few things that don’t make your video better, such as:
Failing at editing your video to look like beautiful videos
Failing to make your video work well together in a post
Failing to make your video work well on social media.
You’re not a filmmaker and you can’t make a good video unless you make a good video. It’s not a talent thing and it can’t just be taught.
You need to be able to be good at whatever it is that you’re doing. It’s a skill in and of itself.
It’s probably possible to find a better way to do it, and most likely a better way that you’re already good at than what you’re doing now. But it’s not something you should just throw out your kitchen sink and start doing.
Instead, take time for yourself outside of filmmaking: Get out on the mountain and do something for yourself. Take out the rubbish.
There’s no such thing as “good” stuff and bad stuff. I don’t like to believe that I’ve discovered the ultimate work ethic when I am constantly trying to be the best that I can.
What happens is that I just end up repeating the same things over and over again because I’m doing it wrong. If you want to be a good filmmaker, you have to learn new things, or make new discoveries, and you have to put those discoveries into your video.
This may seem like a lot of effort, but it is worthwhile. I learned a lot of new things during my process.
You might have a similar process, but this is something that can be improved if you find out that, at the end of it, you’ve learnt a lot from being away from your house trying
