What is a racing nap? – Super Horse Racing Tips

A racing nap is when a person is allowed to rest her head on a pillow or other support, but does not get off of it.

How do I know it’s safe?

Naps are generally safe. In the early 2000s, a few people fell at racetrack racing sessions and one died. As a result, in recent years racing naps have been stopped entirely, as opposed to during the race sessions. The only times that racing naps occur is after an automobile accident where someone had to be rushed to the hospital.

Are naps really fun?

No. A racing nap can be terrifying. Even when you know you and your fellow racers will have plenty of time to recover, any time spent sitting still is a little scary. There is no such thing as a race nap, so why not take a relaxing, short break?

Where can I get a racing nap?

The racetracks most often feature naps in their schedules. If a particular track is not in the calendar, you may be able to find one of these locations on their website.
